Do I need to know the exact time of birth?
No. The sky moves slowly enough that the hour is plenty, and even a best guess gives a true map of that night. If the birth certificate records the time, use it; if not, pick an hour that feels right and the map is still genuinely theirs.
Does a birthday star map work for adults?
It works best for adults, especially milestone birthdays such as an 18th, 30th, 40th or 50th. The older the birthday, the more the night means: it is the one gift that gets more personal with age rather than less.
What should the title and message say?
The classic is their name as the title with the milestone in the message line, such as "forty years under these stars". For children, "the night you were born" with their name and birth date beneath reads beautifully.
Will it arrive in time for the birthday?
